REVO OCT
See beneath the surface of your eye.
At Lens Lounge, we use the REVO OCT to capture incredibly detailed images of your retina and optic nerve. This advanced technology helps detect and monitor eye conditions earlier than a standard eye examination alone, giving you greater confidence in your eye health.
REVO OCT
What is an OCT eye scan?
The REVO OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) is an advanced imaging system that uses light to create detailed, cross-sectional images of the back of your eye.
Unlike a standard eye examination, it allows us to see beneath the surface of the retina, revealing tiny structural changes that can't be seen during routine examination alone.
The scan is quick, painless and completely non-contact, taking only a few seconds to perform.
Why do we use the REVO OCT?
We believe the best eye care combines clinical expertise with modern technology.
The REVO OCT helps us:
Detect eye conditions earlier
Monitor changes over time
Make more informed clinical decisions
Build a detailed baseline of your eye health for future comparison
Because many eye diseases develop gradually and without symptoms, this technology allows us to identify subtle changes before they begin affecting your vision.
What does this mean for you?
Rather than focusing on the technology itself, here's what it means for your eye care.
Earlier detection
Many eye conditions, including glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease, can begin long before you notice any changes to your vision.
The REVO OCT helps us identify these changes earlier, giving you the best opportunity for timely treatment and ongoing management.
A comfortable experience
Your scan is:
Completely painless
Non-contact
Performed in seconds
Uses light instead of radiation or injections
In many cases, scans can also be completed without dilating your pupils, meaning your appointment is faster and you can usually return to your normal day straight afterwards.
Monitoring your eye health over time
One scan tells us a lot.
Multiple scans tell us even more.
Because your results are securely stored, we can compare future scans against your previous visits to identify even the smallest changes over time.
This is especially valuable when monitoring conditions such as:
Glaucoma
Macular degeneration
Diabetic eye disease
Helping you understand your eyes
One of the biggest advantages of the REVO OCT is that you can actually see what's happening.
We'll show you your scan, explain what you're looking at, and talk through what it means for your eye health in clear, easy-to-understand language.
We believe patients should leave feeling informed and confident—not confused.
Why we include OCT technology
At Lens Lounge, we believe advanced technology should be part of exceptional eye care—not an optional extra.
Every comprehensive eye examination includes a REVO OCT eye scan, providing a more detailed assessment of your eye health than a standard examination alone. A small technology fee applies to cover the use of this advanced imaging.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Not at all. The scan is completely painless and non-contact, meaning nothing touches your eye. You'll simply rest your chin on the machine and look at a target while the images are captured in just a few seconds.
-
In many cases, no. The REVO OCT is capable of capturing high-quality images without the need for dilating eye drops. However, there are some situations where dilation may still be recommended to allow us to assess your eyes more thoroughly. If this is the case, we'll explain why before proceeding.
-
The scan itself takes just a few seconds per eye, and the entire process is usually completed in only a few minutes as part of your comprehensive eye examination.

At Lens Lounge, we believe advanced imaging plays an important role in delivering thorough, personalised eye care.
