OUR STORY

1987 - THE BEGINNING

Greg Luke purchased Medispecs at the Palm Centre, beginning a long history of looking after the Coffs Harbour community as an optometrist.

2000 - LIFE OUTSIDE THE PRACTICE

Behind the business was a family. Optometry was part of Greg’s working life, but family was at the heart of everything.

2018 - WORKING TOGETHER

Chloe joined Greg at his Toormina practice, learning the ropes and building relationships with the patients who would become such an important part of her own journey.

2020 - A BIG CHANGE

After more than three decades in optics, Greg Luke sold Medioptics and retired, closing an important chapter in his career.

2021/2022 - KEEPING THE CONNECTION

Following the Toormina hailstorm in 2021, Chloe continued doing glasses orders from home, keeping in touch with the loyal patients she’d built relationships with over the years.

Chloe took the leap and opened Lens Lounge, creating a practice that reflects her own vision for modern independent optometry.

2026 - LENS LOUNGE BEGINS

CURRENT - BACK WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

Greg is back in the optical world, working in the Lens Lounge in-house lens lab and bringing decades of experience to every pair of glasses we prepare.

Lens Lounge may be a new name, but the story behind it began decades ago.

For more than three decades, my dad, local optometrist Greg Luke, cared for generations of families throughout the Coffs Harbour community.

Growing up around the practice, I saw firsthand that great optometry wasn't just about prescriptions. It was about relationships, trust, and taking the time to genuinely care for people.

Those values became the foundation of Lens Lounge.

Today, I've created a practice that reflects my own vision for modern independent optometry, while Greg continues to play an important role behind the scenes. In our in-house lens finishing lab, he brings decades of experience and precision to every pair of glasses we prepare.

It's a unique blend of trusted experience and fresh perspective, honouring the past while creating something entirely our own.

— Chloe Luke

I've always been pretty proud of what Dad built, and now I get to put my own spin on it.

Lens Lounge is a little bit of the old, a little bit of the new, and a whole lot of me. And having Dad along for the ride makes it all that bit more special.
